Data Science Research Bazaar training focused on common experimental designs – Apr. 16

The Statistical Consulting Group in the Department of Statistics is presenting a workshop in experimental design on April 16 from 1:00–2:30 p.m. in the Orchard View Room of the Discovery Building. The workshop is part of the extended events offered with the Data Science Research Bazaar.

Title: Four Common Experimental Designs and How to Use Them & Statistical Consulting Demo
Presenter: Steven Moen, Statistics Ph.D. Student

Description: High-quality experimental designs are crucial in science. In this workshop, four common ones are discussed – completely randomized designs (CRD), complete randomized block designs (RCBD), RCBDs with subsampling, and split-plot designs. Specific examples that tie to real-world analyses across disciplines are emphasized.

In addition, the workshop will include a statistical consulting demo to showcase the statistical consulting process, where scientific questions are discussed and advice is provided at no additional cost. If you are interested in taking part in a live consulting meeting, please bring information related to your research to facilitate a productive discussion. Participation is optional. Depending on demand, not all interested attendees will get to participate.

To sign up, visit https://bazaar.datascience.wisc.edu/ and click “Register.” Scholarships to cover the $10 signup cost are available for students by emailing facilitator@datascience.wisc.edu. Signups close April 10.
