Call for participation: Weird Science Fair at Steenbock Library – March 25
The UW Libraries are hosting a science outreach event for undergraduate students at Steenbock Library on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 12-2 p.m. The event is the second annual “Weird Science Fair” where students can drop in and learn about local research and do hands-on science activities offered by the libraries and campus partners. The goal is to provide a fun study break, create excitement about the science that’s being done locally, and let students know about pathways to get involved.
Please consider these two ways to get involved:
- Host a weird science station – please fill out form: go.wisc.edu/hp8ikv
- Sponsor swag or treats – please contact jessica.newman@wisc.edu
Steenbock is open to many different forms of participation including displays, posters, and activities. A blog post for last year’s Weird Science Fair 2025 provides several examples. Organizers encourage leaning into the “weird” aspect of science and providing the type of curiosity-building experiences that many students are nostalgic for from childhood.
