Nominations for CALS Awards are due Monday, Dec. 1, 2025 at noon and the 2026 CALS Awards Ceremony will take place in late spring (date TBD). There is a single nomination form for all awards. The links below will direct you to the CALS Awards website where you will find nomination requirements and details on each award.

Awards for faculty, academic or university staff:

• Louise Hemstead Leadership Award

Awards for either faculty or academic staff:

• Arthur J. and Ellen A. Maurer Extra Mile Award (candidates for this award must be nominated by a student)
• Donald R. Peterson Farm Technology Transfer Award
• Robert R. Spitzer Teaching Excellence Award (this nomination requires a document from the nominee outlining their teaching philosophy and most recent courses taught–2-page max)
• WALSAA Outstanding Advisor Award

Awards for academic staff only:

• Academic Staff Excellence Award

Award for university staff only:

• University Staff Recognition Award

The CALS annual awards are an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the people who have led the efforts and contributed to the accomplishments of our college. Award nominations are an opportunity to pause and reflect on the work that has been done over the last year. In the reflection, we remember the hard work endured, time invested, and outcomes achieved. Please consider submitting an award nomination to celebrate a CALS community member.
