Faculty Activity Reports due Jan. 12 in updated Faculty Success system

The 2025 CALS Faculty Activity Reports (FARs) will once again be compiled via the Faculty Success reporting tool and will be due to department chairs on Monday, January 12, 2026

Updates have been made to the CALS Faculty Success tool based on feedback from faculty members after using the tool for the first time for the 2024 FARs. Updates include:

  • Included theses and dissertations in the ‘Mentoring’ screen (previously part of the Directed Student Learning screen).
  • Added a ‘Guest Lectures’ screen for you to report teaching activities for courses for which you were not an instructor of record.
  • Added a field for you to include a narrative about your annual activities in your FAR if you have relevant information to share and you choose to do so.
  • Added an option to indicate that you created a Workshop or Non-Credit Generating Course in the Teaching Innovation and Curriculum Development screen.
  • Improved the FAR template to enhance clarity and report structure, and to include the metrics most meaningful across our disciplines.

As you start entering your outcomes, you will notice that teaching data has been added by CALS Administration for the 2025 spring and summer semesters. The fall semester data will be added by mid-December.

As a reminder, not all fields in Faculty Success will be pulled into the FAR, but they can be viewed and queried by Deans and Department Chairs. In addition, you can use the information you enter into Faculty Success for other purposes, so if something is important to you, you should enter it. Beyond the fields represented in the FAR, it is up to the individual to decide how much information to enter into Faculty Success.

Faculty members can find useful information such as the link to login to Faculty Success, how-to documents, demonstration videos and FAQs on the CALS Faculty Success website
