Biochemistry and nutritional sciences NIH T32 Training Grants renewed

The Departments of Biochemistry and Nutritional Sciences were recently awarded renewals of their T32 Training Grants from the National Institutes of Health. The mission of T32 grants is to prepare individuals for careers that have a significant impact on health-related research.

This is the 31st year of funding for the Metabolism and Nutrition Training Program in the Department of Nutritional Sciences. The program provides predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees with a breadth of training to pursue successful careers in nutrition-related biomedical research and foster the development of new paradigms for chronic disease treatment. PIs on the grant are Guy Groblewski and Eric Yen.

The Department of Biochemistry was again awarded a T32 grant for its Biotechnology Training Program. The program offers foundational training for pre-doctoral students engaged in cutting-edge research across the interface of the biological, physical and engineering sciences.  PIs on this grant are Scott Coyle, Brian Fox, Srivatsan Raman and Judith Simcox.
