Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program mentorship opportunities available for 2025-26

The Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program is inviting UW faculty, staff, graduate students and community leaders to serve as MJL Mentors to Scholars. The Mercile J. Lee Scholars Program is a four-year, full-tuition scholarship program that attracts, supports and develops academically talented students who come from a background where they have experienced hardship/disadvantage that has impacted their educational opportunities.

Mentors help personalize a large, complex university and provide support to Scholars as they navigate academics, campus resources and career development. The program is looking for MJL Mentors to be matched with Sophomore, Junior and Senior Scholars. The commitment to this role will be for one academic year and can continue as the relationship evolves.

Refer to the FAQ document to learn more about the scholarship program, the roles of mentor and mentee, and expectations. Those interested in serving as a MJL Mentor should complete this survey by Friday, Sep. 12.
