Ellison Lab to host Hemp Field Day on Aug. 21
The Ellison Lab in the Department of Plant and Agroecosystem Sciences will host a field day about the latest hemp research being at UW–Madison.
The event will be held Thursday, August 21, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Arlington Agricultural Research Station (N695 Hopkins Road, Arlington, WI 53911). Coffee and donuts will be available starting at 8:30am.
Presentations will be given by UW faculty, staff and members of Extension with ample opportunities for Q&A. Topics to be presented include:
- Industrial (Grain/Fiber) Hemp Variety Trials
- High Cannabinoid Hemp Variety Trials
- Grain/Fiber Breeding Updates
- Insect Pest Population and Damage Survey
- Cover Cropping in Hemp
- Pest Control Options
Attendees will be shuttled to trials/presenters across the research station and will be able to see hemp processing demonstrations along with a showcase of additional hemp products.
