Campus community invited to share feedback on Strategic Visioning concepts

Over the past few months, a Visioning Committee convened by Chancellor Mnookin has been creating initial concepts to inform recommendations for the university’s next strategic framework. The campus community is invited to provide feedback on these initial concepts through a survey and community conversations.

The survey includes the draft initial concepts developed by the Visioning Committee, which will be the focal point of the community conversations. The questions in the survey are very similar to those that will be discussed in the in-person events. A unique survey link was emailed to all campus community members last week, and the survey will be open through April 15. The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete.

Community conversations are scheduled at various locations on campus. Registration is required. In each conversation, a member of the Visioning Committee will present the initial concepts and facilitate a discussion around key questions. Participants will have the opportunity to share feedback both as part of a small discussion group and individually.

Community conversations for employees are scheduled through April 23. See dates and sign up at go.wisc.edu/svccemployees. Community conversations for students are scheduled on April 15 and 16, and students can sign up at go.wisc.edu/svcc. Each session is limited to 100 people.

Employees may attend during work hours without loss of pay but will not be paid to attend a session outside their scheduled work hours. Employees should let supervisors know ahead of time if they plan to attend during work hours — supervisors are expected to provide flexibility where possible.

All sessions will be conducted in English. However, if attendees would like to participate in a community conversation in a different language, they can contact Cultural Linguistic Services:

Unfortunately, virtual options for these sessions are not available currently, in part due to the condensed timeline caused by all the federal activities impacting our campus. The best way for people to share feedback if they cannot attend an in-person conversation is by completing the survey.
