Nutrition seminar on “Metabolic Healthy and Unhealthy Obesity and Response to Weight Loss” – Mar. 13
Sam Klein, MD, will present “Metabolic Healthy and Unhealthy Obesity and Response to Weight Loss” on Thursday, March 13. The event will take place at 11:00 a.m. in Room 290 of the Nutritional Sciences building.
Klein is the William H. Danforth Professor of Medicine and Nutritional Science from the Center for Human Nutrition at Washington University School of Medicine. His research focuses on metabolic dysfunction in obesity, with a particular focus on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, which affects about 25% of adults in the U.S. Klein is board-certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology and nutrition. He is past president of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity and the American Society for Clinical Nutrition, and he was the inaugural chair of the Integrative Physiology of Obesity and Diabetes NIH study section.
