MOSAIC Mental Health Seminar – Feb. 4
Join Mentorship Opportunities in Science & Agriculture for Individuals of Color (MOSAIC) for a Mental Health Seminar on Tuesday, February 4, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Moore Hall, Room 473. The seminar is provided by University Health Services (UHS), and guest speakers are Danyelle Okesanjo, mental health provider and outreach coordinator, and Casey Tice, access specialist/mental health provider from CALS. Together, they will share valuable information about the mental health resources available on campus, strategies for managing stress and tips for fostering mental well-being. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn about how to access support services and explore ways to normalize conversations around mental health.
Whether you’re looking for tools to improve your own mental health or ways to support your peers, this seminar is an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge and connect with campus resources. Light refreshments/coffee and baked goods will be provided.
This event is brought to you by MOSAIC and the Equity & Diversity Committee in the Department of Plant and Agroecosystem Sciences. Keep in mind that participation in MOSAIC events is open to everyone, regardless of whether you’re a current MOSAIC mentee or not. This event welcomes UW BIPOC from all colleges, including grad students, research staff, faculty and administration.
As a BIPOC affinity group, MOSAIC’s purpose is to reduce the space between potential mentors of color and up-and-coming academics of color on this predominantly white campus.
