With the help of Joel Malak from Environmental and Occupational Health and other campus experts, UW–Madison is making preparations in the event that highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) reaches our dairy herds.   

For anyone working with or in contact with outdoor dairy herds or poultry flocks, or for those interested in more information and resources, an online Canvas course can be found here: Avian Influenza Occupational Health Guidance. The course is not required, but it is strongly suggested for anyone working with the university’s dairy cattle.
