Faculty/staff: Your input is requested on the UW-Madison Data Classification Policy
UW–Madison employees work with data every day that can be classified as public, internal, sensitive and/or restricted. Understanding your familiarity with the current policy / data classifications and how they impact your work is crucial information. Your input will help the Office of Academic Planning & Institutional Research comprehend the practical usage, identify potential gaps, and align our policies more effectively with the specific needs of our campus community.
The survey includes 15 short questions and should only take 10 minutes of your time. The answers you provide will not be shared beyond the working groups directly charged with the data classification policy update.
Take the Data Classification Survey through February 4: https://uwmadison.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6sbTU2h5YNl1ceq
After the survey window closes, the team will provide a written report to the IT Policy Planning & Analysis Team (PAT) with a recommended course of action for the data classification policy at UW–Madison.
Thank you for your participation and for any questions, feel free to contact co-chairs of the Data Classification Discovery Team: Heather Johnston (Cybersecurity/DOIT, hbjohnston@wisc.edu) or Lisa Johnston (Data Governance/DAPIR, lrjohnston@wisc.edu)
