Applications for Fulbright-Hayes faculty summer program in Tanzania due Jan. 31

The School for International Training (SIT, a study abroad partner of UW–Madison), with funding from the Fulbright-Hayes Program, is offering a five-week program to Tanzania and Zanzibar for six university faculty (focused on undergraduate teaching) and six K-12 educators. This is an open call that any university and K-12 educator can apply to.

Program dates: June 29-August 3

Eligibility:

This program is available to high school educators as well as undergraduate faculty who have a demonstrated interest in African studies, climate change and experiential learning.

Candidates are eligible to apply if they are:

  • a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United States
  • currently employed full-time in a U.S. school system, higher education institution, or local or state education agency
  • currently teaching or administering in the fields of humanities, social sciences, foreign languages, and/or area studies
  • working as one of the following: a teacher in a secondary school, a faculty member at a higher education institution, and/or an education administrator responsible for conducting, planning, or supervising programs in the fields of humanities, social sciences, foreign languages, and/or area studies.
