Apply or nominate someone for LEAD 21 leadership development program
LEAD21 is the premiere leadership development program for current and future leaders in land grant universities’ colleges of agricultural, environmental, and human sciences and USDA/NIFA. The purpose of LEAD21 is to develop leaders who link research, academics, and extension to lead more effectively in an increasingly complex environment, either in their current position or as they aspire to other positions. Through engaging and collaborative learning, participants learn about themselves, develop a national network of peers, and develop the skills to effectively lead people through change. CALS will sponsor at least one faculty or academic staff member to be part of the LEAD21 program for 2023-2024 (class 19), which includes the college paying the registration fee and travel costs for program participants.
This is a high-quality professional development program for current and emerging high education leaders. Past CALS participants include Natalia de Leon, Michael Peters, Scott Rankin, Mark Rickenbach, Karen Wassarman and Heather White.
All nominations should be UPLOADED to this BOX FOLDER by October 31, 2022 as a single PDF that includes the name of the applicant/nominee.
Items to include is a nominee statement of interest, and current CV. The statement (~600 words total) should address:
- Why the individual is interested in the LEAD21 program, and
- How this program would benefit the individual, their unit, and/or the college overall.
