CALS faculty, graduate students, and postdocs are invited to the first Dairy Innovation Hub seminar of the new academic year on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 11:00 a.m. in MSABD Room 1115. The first speaker, animal and dairy sciences assistant professor Hilario Mantovani, will discuss his current research on dairy cow gut microbiomes. Coffee and snacks will be provided!

The Dairy Innovation Hub faculty seminar series is hosted on the third Wednesday of the month in MSABD during the academic year. It will showcase current Hub work, introduce potential collaborators (from across CALS and our partner universities), and foster discussion around common research interests. This is an in-person event, but a virtual join option is available by request — contact Maria Woldt at maria.woldt@wisc.edu.

About Mantovani:

Mantovani is an assistant professor in the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences. He joined UW–Madison in March of this year focusing on rumen microbial physiology as it relates to animal biology and advancing the sustainability of animal sourced food systems. Prior to joining UW, Mantovani was a professor at the Federal University of Viçosa in Brazil. Mantovani’s research centers on understanding the functions and mechanisms of interaction of gastrointestinal microbes and exploring their potential to promote livestock health and increase animal productivity.
