Dairy Innovation Hub seeks proposals for capacity building equipment for Fall 2022
The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is accepting proposals for capital equipment research and outreach projects that will leverage existing UW–Madison expertise to provide timely products supporting the goals of the Dairy Innovation Hub, with an emphasis on addressing recommendations generated by the Dairy Task Force 2.0.
Proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. (CST) on Friday, November 4, 2022, via WISPER submission and award decisions will be made by January 2023. Funding is available to all CALS faculty and staff with PI status with the expectation that equipment MUST be purchased in FY23 (June 30, 2023).
This RFP seeks proposals that will fund research to work on innovative and impactful dairy-related research that will fit within one of the following priority areas of the Hub.
- Steward Land and Water Resources
- Enrich Human Health and Nutrition
- Ensure Animal health and Welfare
- Grow Farm Businesses and Communities

The Dairy Innovation Hub, which launched in 2019, is a $7.8 million per year investment by the State of Wisconsin to build a world-class talent pool and enable bold discoveries to ensure that Wisconsin’s dairy community is at the global forefront in producing nutritious dairy products in an economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable manner.
Recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent is a major focus of the Hub. In just three years, the Hub has harnessed incredible research at UW–Madison related to the Wisconsin dairy industry.
