Equity workshops for graduate assistants offered in Fall 2022
The Graduate Assistants’ Equity Workshops are employee professional development sessions focusing on diversity, discrimination and harassment. They are offered each year to teaching assistants (TAs), program/project assistants (PAs) and research assistants (RAs). TAs cannot be reappointed for more than one semester unless they have completed a workshop. TAs, PAs and RAs who have previously attended a workshop are not required to attend again.
Participants receive information about relevant laws, policies, regulations and resources; explore the practical application of these policies to teaching, learning, and research environments; and engage in conversations designed to promote interdisciplinary dialogue and excellence through diversity. These sessions encourage the development of competencies that sustain and strengthen UW–Madison’s position of preeminence in research and higher education and advance critical campus strategic priorities.
