UW–Madison undergraduate and graduate students are invited to Allen Centennial Garden’s Plant Adoption Day on Friday, Sept. 9 to get a free plant. The event starts at 3:00 p.m. and will continue while supplies last. Students must show a valid Wiscard to receive their plant. One plant per student.

The plant selection includes some of the toughest plants around — adapted to withstand too little or too much water. Plants include pilea, butterwort, pepperomia, fuzzy bunny bellies, polkadot plants, Algerian ivy, zebra plants, spider plants, and goldfish plants!

Not sure which one to pick? No problem. ACG staff will be on hand to discuss the various plant options with students, including information about plant care.

Students are encouraged to stick around and enjoy the garden, including learning about the kitchen garden where the ACG team and community partners grew Afro Diasporic, Indigenous, and Hmong crops this summer.
