The CALS Committee on Academic Staff Issues has completed its five-year self-study and has made it available to all college academic staff and others on the CALS CASI website.
The CALS CASI represents academic staff across the college, and it’s an important part of shared governance at UW-Madison. CASI representatives, who meet monthly during the academic year, advise the CALS Dean’s Office on the development of policies and procedures that impact academic staff.
University policy stipulates that each CASI across campus submit a self-study every five years to its dean and the Academic Staff Executive Committee and make the report available to all academic staff in its school, college, or division. The report includes a summary of the committee’s activities within the last five years; an evaluation of its successes, strengths, and opportunities; and recommendations for future strategic areas of focus.
