April 2022 update from University Bicycle Resource Center

End of the semester home stretch!

Our next free class at the University Bicycle Resource Center will be “Shifting and Derailleurs” on Tuesday, April 26 , 6-7:30 p.m. Learn the basics about how your bicycles gears work and how to keep them shifting smoothly. This is a hands-on class and it’s optimal if you have your bike with you to practice what you are learning in real time, but you can also just come and watch if you prefer. Free class taught in person at the shop by India Viola, local bicycle advocate and educator.

If you can’t make it or would rather stay virtual, a Youtube playlist of recordings of last year’s virtual classes is available at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNtejTllqtG8fFgXwjW_AtP8PhJwNrTG7.

We are currently working on getting an open hour shop schedule together for this summer. As soon as we know for sure we will post the hours on the shop door and online. If more physical distance than the shop can provide is your jam, check out our Air and Repair stations throughout campus (map at https://transportation.wisc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/28/2017/12/Bicycle-Air-Repair-Station-and-Specialty-Parking-Locations-Map.pdf ). Our current class schedule and shop hours are posted at https://transportation.wisc.edu/bicycling/university-bicycle-resource-center/ .

Enjoy the warm up this weekend and get out on your bike!
