Apply to be a Badger Buddy mentor or facilitator for the Biological Interactions Summer Research Program
The following message was recently shared by organizers of the Biological Interactions Summer Research Program:
You are invited to apply to be Badger Buddy Mentor or Badger Buddy Facilitator for the Biological Interactions Summer Research Program.
The Biological Interactions (BI) Summer Research Program is a program that seeks to help diverse undergraduate students to explore biology through observation of phenotype and to investigate the influence of genotype, environment, and their interactions on phenotype. This year we will offer an in-person program with students engaged in a variety of bioscience research projects and participating in professional development sessions about research, science careers, and science writing for both general and expert audiences.
The Badger Buddies Mentorship Program supports our goal to help BI participants receive multiple mentorship opportunities and interactions with graduate students and postdocs at UW-Madison. We want this program to be both beneficial to the mentees, but also a professional development opportunity for the Badger Buddy mentors to further develop their mentoring skills and provide service to the community. Graduate students and Postdocs can support BI students through two positions: Badger Buddy Mentor and Badger Buddy Facilitator. You may apply for both positions through the same application (due April 18), but if chosen, you will be placed in one position.
Details about the Badger Buddies program are in the attached document. If you are interested in becoming a Badger Buddy, please fill out the application by April 22.
Please contact us if you have any questions.
Take care,
Dr. Amber Smith, BI Program Director
