New faculty positions approved in 2022
Dean Kate VandenBosch recently informed department chairs of the approved faculty positions resulting from proposals submitted to the college in the fall. Hires funded from sources outside of the college, including cluster hires, faculty transfers, spousal hires and TOP hires, are not included on this list. This year, the college had limited funds in the dean’s pool to match or fully fund positions. For that reason, positions with other funding sources, including those fully-funded by departments, were prioritized.
The following faculty positions were approved:
- Cropping systems water quality (Agronomy and Horticulture, Extension)
- Ecological economics (Forest and Wildlife Ecology)
- Environmental soil chemistry (Soil Science)
- Forest ecosystem ecology (Forest and Wildlife Ecology)
- Nutritional sciences (Nutritional Sciences)
- Spatial dimensions of community health (Community and Environmental Sociology)
- Value-added agriculture (Agricultural and Applied Economics, Extension)
- Water management engineering (Biological Systems Engineering, Extension)
These departments have or will soon begin the recruitment process, with the goal of completing the searches during the upcoming academic year.
Requests for position and bridge funding are open twice per year, during each of the academic semesters. The next round of requests will be due during spring semester.
