Clean Energy Workshop follow-up event set for Mar. 23

The following email message was recently shared by Oliver Schitz, associate dean for research in the UW–Madison College of Engineering:

As announced last month, we are organizing a follow-up event to the Clean Energy Workshop held at the end of last year. The purpose of this event will be to build upon the material and ideas generated previously. The goal will be to leave this workshop with an approach to setup a set of initiatives and ideas from which a toolkit can be developed to write proposals and go after imminent clean energy funding opportunities.

This follow-up workshop will be held in the Tong Auditorium (Engineering Centers Building, room 1003) from 1:15-3:15 on Wednesday, March 23. The draft agenda is below, and please follow this link to pre-register for the event: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/19XD1RvYLtDEJTZc-VvOEDRkuEXzTfXcmmW9ZO9rVcV0/edit

Draft Agenda

  • 30 minutes: summary of results to date (Schmitz)
  • 60 minutes: breakout groups for further consolidation of suggested areas (All)
  • 30 minutes:  report back and path forward (All)

It would be ideal for planning if interested faculty could register by 5:00 PM on 3/18/2022. However, we will be happy to accommodate same-day registrations as well. This invitation is open to everyone interested on campus.

We look forward to connecting on these essential topics and helping the university be ready for these exciting upcoming funding opportunities.

Best regards,

Oliver Schmitz – Associate Dean for Research
Dan Thoma – Director of the Grainger Institute of Engineering
