Working on new courses or course changes? Sign up for CALS-specific Lumen orientation and open lab sessions
CALS faculty and staff working on new courses or course changes for their department are invited to attend a CALS-specific Lumen orientation and open lab. Participants who bring along a syllabus can receive personal assistance on how to incorporate it into their Lumen proposal.
Governed academic content for courses and programs is approved through the Lumen software system. This includes new courses, course changes to governed content, and program updates to admissions/eligibility, requirements, curriculum, and policies.
This CALS-specific orientation will provide a basic overview of the parts of a Lumen course proposal, the responsibilities of the proposer, timelines, and some best practices. The open lab is an opportunity to ask questions and receive guided assistance with individual proposals. Participants can bring the information they learn back to their own departments.
Registration is available here for the following four sessions:
- March 2, 9:15-11am, Steenbock Library Room 105
- March 15, 9:15-11am, Steenbock Library Room 105
- March 16, 9:15-11am, Steenbock Library Room 105
- April 6, 2-4pm, Steenbock Library Room 105
Each session will be the same, starting with a 30 minutes overview. The open lab starts immediately afterward, as an informal drop-in.
CALS faculty or staff with some experience in Lumen courses are welcome to participate–including just dropping by for part of the open lab.
