The research program of Kerri Coon, assistant professor of bacteriology, focuses on insect-microbe interactions. For one project, the Coon lab is investigating the potential role that Muscidae (Diptera) flies play in the transmission of disease-causing bacteria in dairy cows. Such diseases include mastitis and enteritis.

The photos below were taken for the Dairy Innovation Hub Annual Report by CALS photographer Michael P. King on Thursday, July 29, 2021, prior to changes in indoor face covering guidelines that became effective August 5.
