October 2021 update from University Bicycle Resource Center
Autumn weather is coming on…
Our next free class at the University Bicycle Resource Center will be “Basic Brakes” on Tuesday, October 19th , 6 – 7:30 p.m. The class will be in person at the shop (masks required). In this class, we will discuss brakes and minor brake adjustments. Bring your bike to class to identify and learn how to use your barrel adjusters, as well as clean your braking surfaces, or just follow along without your bike. If you can’t make it or would rather stay virtual, a Youtube playlist of recordings of last year’s virtual classes is available at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNtejTllqtG8fFgXwjW_AtP8PhJwNrTG7.
We also remain open for drop in DIY repairs. In compliance with UW policy, please wear a mask when you are in the shop. If more physical distance than the shop can provide is your jam, check out our Air and Repair stations throughout campus (map at https://transportation.wisc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/28/2017/12/Bicycle-Air-Repair-Station-and-Specialty-Parking-Locations-Map.pdf). Our current class schedule and shop hours are posted at https://transportation.wisc.edu/bicycling/university-bicycle-resource-center/.
Stay warm and dry and keep riding!
