Who should be featured in Alumni Park next?

The following was supplied by the Wisconsin Alumni Association on 3/31/2021:

It feels like only yesterday that we were opening Alumni Park on that rainy day in October 2017. As we look forward to the park’s five-year anniversary in October 2022, one of our main goals is to make sure that the stories represented there continue to reflect the breadth of alumni impact and the diversity of the alumni story.

That’s where we welcome your input. Thanks to the flexible nature of some of the park’s physical exhibits, and, we’re able to update and refresh featured stories — and look to you to submit the alumni you believe are worthy of inclusion.

We’re specifically looking for alumni stories that illustrate the positive impact of UW–Madison on society, and embody the Wisconsin Idea, the guiding philosophy that education should influence people’s lives beyond the boundaries of the classroom. To continue the Alumni Park tradition of celebrating the diverse people and experiences that exemplify the university, we’re reaching out to you and other stakeholders for nominations.

As you submit alumni for consideration, please reflect upon the five thematic pillars represented in Alumni Park (service, discovery, progress, leadership, and tradition) to describe their accomplishments and impact. Your alumni submissions and stories should fit into one or more of these categories.

Finally, note that alumni featured in the park are not organized by school or college but by areas of impact, which are referred to as areas of distinction in the park. These areas of distinction may also help inspire you when identifying alumni to nominate.

Please fill out a submission form now (and feel free to nominate more than one alum, maybe even yourself). The deadline is April 30, 2021.

Thank you for your commitment to Alumni Park and the Wisconsin Alumni Association.

On, Wisconsin!
