The following was provided by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources:
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking six surveyors for bee and butterfly monitoring across four projects. We are looking for one surveyor to monitor bumble bees in southwest Minnesota, two surveyors to monitor wild bees in western Minnesota prairies, one person to survey bees in the northeast, and two people to monitor butterflies in the western prairies. This work is a vital part of our mission to protect and save our native plant communities and the pollinators that depend on them.
These positions are available as contracts (it’s not as hard as it might sound). To view the Request For Proposals (RFP) and submit an application package to bid on the contract, visit the Minnesota Supplier Portal here. Four total projects for the six surveyors are listed under Bidding Opportunities:
- DNR QC RFO EWR PT BUTTERFLY MONITORING
- DNR QC RFP PT EWR BEE SURVEYS
- DNR QC RFP PT EWR BUMBLE BEE SURVEYS
- DNR QC RFP PT EWR BEE MONITORING
Click on the project, then click on ‘View Bid Package’. There you will find the RFP document with project details. New users of this system will first need to register for an account before applying. Information about how to pose questions about the proposal and the process can be found on p. 3 of each RFP. Questions must be asked by March 23; answers to all questions will be posted for each project a few days later. Applications are due by 2:00 PM CST on Friday, 2 April 2021.
