Mark your calendar for a celebration of the college’s newly completed Meat Science and Animal Biologics Discovery building on Nov 6. The event will be entirely virtual with a recorded program — featuring state officials as well as UW leaders — posted to the event website at noon. Also on the website that day you’ll find photos of the facility’s interior, facts about the building, information about the program and introductions to new faculty and staff. Watch social media and join in the discussion by using #MeatOurNewBuilding.
The Meat Science and Animal Biologics Discovery program is part of the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences. The building represents an investment made possible by significant support from the state and numerous alumni, businesses and other donors. It will serve as a home for the program to develop experienced, critical-thinking meat industry leaders, discover new uses for animal components in enhancing animal and human health, and provide objective expertise for educating students, scientists and society in wholesome foods derived from animals.
