Updated face covering guidance: Coverings required outdoors on campus

On September 7th and 9th, the Chancellor announced a 14-day emphasis on health and safety protocols. One of the temporary protocols announced was for employees and students to wear face coverings when outside in campus spaces. The requirement to wear face coverings outdoors while on campus was in addition to the previous requirement to wear face coverings indoors. On September 23, UW-Madison officials updated the face covering guidance to remove the temporary label from wearing face coverings outdoors in campus spaces. It is now a permanent requirement to wear face coverings while outdoors on campus as well as indoors.
