Grant awarded: NIH funds RC2 grant to study Genetic Control of Metabolic Flux in Response to Diet

Alan Attie (Biochemistry), in collaboration with Mark Keller (Biochemistry), Judith Simcox (Biochemistry), Federico Rey (Bacteriology), and researchers from Yale University and Jackson Laboratory, was awarded an RC2 grant through the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases. The award will provide a total of $8.2 million over five years, and explore the role of genetic variation in the response to two popular diets (high-fat/low-carb, vs. low-fat/high-carb) in a genetically diverse mouse population and discover the genes and pathways that mediate diet responsiveness.
