Grant awarded: USDA Funds OREI grant to use ecology, tools, and technology to take tillage out of organic grain crop production

Erin Silva (Plant Pathology) was awarded a grant through the Organic Research and Extension Initiative at USDA (lead Cornell University). The award will provide $800K over four years to develop robust management strategies for reducing tillage in organic grain and forage based cropping systems, and facilitate the transformation to a more sustainable agriculture that better balances tradeoffs between productivity, environmental impact, and farmer quality of life.
