How to report furlough time used

Furlough reporting requirements vary depending on your employee classification. Please see your furlough notification letter for an explanation of how your pay will be reduced during furlough. Look for a bolded sentence at the start of the 3rd or 4th paragraph of your notification letter to help determine your reporting method.

If your pay will be reduced in equal amounts over the specified furlough period (aka “smoothing” or a percent reduction):

Use the following instructions if you are:

  • Faculty
  • Instructional Academic Staff
  • University Staff Non-Exempt (hourly employees)
  • Academic Staff Non-Exempt (hourly employees)
  • Trades/Craft Workers
  • Attorneys
