Regents approve changes to Babcock Hall and Meat Science capital projects

At their meetings on Feb. 6 and 7, the members of the UW Board of Regents approved requests to finalize both the Babcock Hall Dairy Plant Renovation and CDR addition and the Meat Science and Animal Biologics Discovery Building. The requests will now go before the State Building Commission, which has authority over all state capital projects. Their next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 27, 2020.

Once all final approvals are granted, specific completion schedules will be developed, including target dates for when the new facilities will be open to researchers, students and the public.

During construction on Babcock Hall, the Babcock Dairy Store remains open.

The current Meat and Muscle Biology Building will continue to house courses, research and Bucky’s Butchery until the new Meat Science building on Observatory Drive is complete.
