Policy Library Project team seeks input on implementation

A cross-campus Policy Library Project Team is focused on establishing a searchable, online policy library for all university-wide policies at UW–Madison. Recently, the team submitted its report and recommendations from phase one of the project (discovery and planning) to the executive sponsors, Provost Karl Scholz and Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs Ray Taffora. That report is now available on the project website.

As the project enters the implementation phase, the team welcomes input from campus constituents on what they need and want from a searchable online policy library. To share your input, complete and submit the comment form.

The implementation phase is focused on preparing to deploy the library during the 2020-21 academic year, including cleaning up applicable policies (as needed) to make them “library-ready,” developing business and technical requirements for the library, identifying a software solution, and developing tools and templates to support the policy library. Also, this phase includes establishing a working group to develop guidelines that will help integrate the policy library into the existing policy development process on campus. The working group will consist of representatives from across administration and governance. Be sure to visit the project website for more information.
