Presentation by Ida Balderrama-Trudell

12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Steenbock Library BioCommons, Room 110 A/B

UW-Madison has a very complex history involving diversity and climate and many assumptions are made regarding UW-Madison as an institution related to diversity and inclusion. This CALS Lunch and Learn session provided by the CALS Equity and Diversity Committee will focus on the timeline and development of diversity programming on the UW-Madison campus.

Historical activities and events will be documented, as well as the campus responses at these given times, that have led to the current landscape of resources and programs on campus today. The goal is to emphasize the continued need for support of activities and resources that support diversity and inclusion, and how the UW-Madison community can be engaged in creating an environment that is safe and inviting to everyone. Ida Balderrama-Trudell, assistant dean and interim director of the Multicultural Student Center, will lead this discussion and dialogue.

Please RSVP at by noon, Thursday, October 3, so there can be an accurate count for lunch, which will be sponsored by the Department of Life Sciences Communication. (NOTE: If you receive an error message and cannot access the registration form, make sure you are registering using your UW-Madison G Suite account. Click here to learn how to access that account.)
