Sandy Fowler named assistant dean of Business Services

Sandy Fowler was recently promoted to assistant dean of CALS Business Services. In her new role, she will work closely with Angela Seitler, associate dean of Business Services, to support the overall operation of the unit.

Fowler started her CALS career in 1999 as a Program Assistant in the Department of Forestry (now known as the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology). In 2006, she joined the CALS Research Division and then migrated to CALS Business Services, where she has been serving as a lead accountant specializing in sponsored project management.

Over the years, Fowler has been involved with many campus processes and system improvement projects, advocating for positive changes with CALS departments and faculty in mind. She continues to partner with other campus units to create and improve processes, policies, and develop trainings. Her current service work involves the UW–Madison Policy Library Project, the UW–Madison Research and Sponsored Program’s Research Education Development program, and the National Council of University Research Administrators.
