Subject: Rollout of updated/enhanced precollege program policies
We are writing to make you aware of a significant university policy update designed to ensure the health and safety of all minors (youth under the age of 18) participating in activities under the auspices of UW–Madison.
As you’re likely aware, the importance of youth protection is something that is receiving national attention. Our campus has been proactive in establishing the appropriate steps to ensure the protection of youth in our care—through the Precollege Council and the Office of Precollege/Youth Program Compliance (OPYPC). This policy update is a continuation of those efforts.
If you take part in any UW–Madison program or activity that involves minors, it is important that you read the updated policy and respond accordingly. Please visit the new UW Precollege Compliance website for useful campus information and resources. resources and to register for Precollege Compliance trainings.
We recognize that some process changes may require additional time and resources, but we ask that you reach out to the Office of Precollege/Youth Program Compliance to discuss your situation.
Should you have any questions, please contact OPYPC:
We appreciate your prompt attention to this important matter.
