CALS Wellness Committee tip: Workplace composting available
Did you know that the UW–Madison Office of Sustainability promotes a Green Office program that helps departments compost some of the waste generated in their buildings?
You can find composting bins on campus at the Unions and some other locations. UW–Madison offers biodigester composting for food waste generated on campus. The Green Office program provides the opportunity for you to have a compost bin placed in your office for disposal at these campus locations.
Here are some items that can be composted rather than placed in the trash:
- Food products, including meats, grains, oils, and grease
- Coffee grounds and filters, and tea bags
- Food-soiled napkins and paper towels
- Pizza boxes
