Caitlin Bourbeau wins 2019 CALS Academic Staff Award for Excellence in Service

Over the next few weeks, eCALS will highlight each winner of a 2019 CALS Award. Winners were recognized at an award ceremony on Wednesday, May 1.

Congratulations to Caitlin Bourbeau, recipient of the 2019 CALS Academic Staff Award for Excellence in Service. Bourbeau is a web developer and data visualization specialist. In her role at the Applied Population Lab, she consistently delivers beautiful tools and graphics that make APL successful in fulfilling their mission of translating social and economic data into useful information for understanding the effects of population change.

Bourbeau recently partnered with WisContext to develop interactive, online data visualizations to show demographic issues as they affect Wisconsin. So far, she has created data visualizations for 19 different reports, and her team has earned a prestigious Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Award from the Office of the Provost.

Bourbeau consistently rises above the expectations of her job duties and, as every letter in her nomination packet indicated, she is a true pleasure to work with.
