CALS Commit to be Fit team prevails through snowy conditions to complete Crazylegs Classic

Despite the cold, snowy weather, the CALS Commit to be Fit team prevailed to complete the 38th annual Crazylegs Classic this past Saturday April 27, 2019. CALS represented well with a team of 12 members that was organized by team captain Becky Eddy, superintendent of Rhinelander Agricultural Research Station. Most team members opted for the 8K run, sticking together for the first part of the race. Some chose to participate in the 2-mile walk option. Eddy reports that the team “had a lot of fun!”

In total, 10,500 people participated in the Crazylegs Classic, which had a new starting location this year at Library Mall. The event’s finish line was on the field of Camp Randall. Grand Marshal Joe Thomas and Barry Alvarez were present for the event.

Participating sponsors included the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association’s Powered by Potatoes team as well as the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association.
