Missing out on mindfulness? CALS personnel invited to participate in biweekly sessions

The CALS Wellness Committee would like to remind faculty and staff about the benefits of practicing mindfulness. Mindfulness is a state of awareness that helps boost attention, productivity, and limits stress levels in the workplace.

Biochemistry hosts mindfulness sessions every other Wednesday guided by youtube videos. Contact bsinotte@wisc.edu for more information.

Can’t join? Here are a few tips to practice mindfulness on your own:

  • Take a moment to focus on your breathing, especially when you are stressed.
  • Observe your surroundings. Become more aware of sounds and sights you may not otherwise notice.
  • Look at your own physical sensations. Feel how your body relaxes itself.
  • Recognize your emotions and thoughts without judgment.
