Learn about innovations and improvements at UW Showcase event – Apr. 17

The Office of Strategic Consulting is looking forward to hosting the 20th annual Showcase on Wednesday, April 17, at Union South. Showcase is a free half-day event that provides a unique opportunity for UW–Madison faculty, staff, and administrators to share their successes, learn from others’ experiences, and connect with each other. All members of the campus community (as well as guests from off campus) are welcome to attend. The event consists of poster exhibits, breakout sessions, poster flash talks, and a keynote presentation.

Register Now

Participants may attend all or portions of Showcase, which runs from 8:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. A schedule of the morning’s activities is available on the website. Although attendance at Showcase is free, registration in advance is appreciated. A single registration covers all activities. Register here.

New This Year: Preview Event for Exhibitors, Presenters, and Invited Guests

This year, for the first time, a special poster preview and reception will be held the afternoon before Showcase for poster exhibitors, speakers/presenters, executive sponsors, campus guests, and 2019 Administrative Improvement Award (AIA) winners and guests. The preview event will conclude with presentation of this year’s Administrative Improvement Awards (all are welcome to attend the AIA ceremony). Combining the Administrative Improvement Awards with Showcase offers a great opportunity for the campus community to participate in two springtime traditions and celebrations of excellence in tandem.

Keynote Speaker Announced

Joining us this year as keynote speaker is Liz Menzer, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence. Additional details about her keynote presentation, as well as breakout session topics and presenters, will be available soon.

Share Your Success Story by Exhibiting a Poster

If you have an improvement, innovation, or best practice to share, you can create a poster to exhibit at Showcase. If you don’t already have an idea for a poster, here are some questions to ask yourself:

Have you…

  • Streamlined a process?
  • Applied a new tool or technology?
  • Developed a new service or program?
  • Enhanced customer service?
  • Implemented a “best practice?”
  • Changed your mission or organizational structure?
  • Built a strategic plan and then acted on it?
  • Created an educational innovation?
  • Put into practice any other innovative ideas?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above, consider exhibiting a poster at Showcase. Fill out the Poster Exhibit Interest Questionnaire. The deadline for submitting an idea for a poster is March 10.
