Dominique Brossard appointed to the NSF Advisory Committee for the Social, Behavioral and Economic (SBE) Science Directorate

Dominique Brossard, professor and chair of life sciences communication, has been appointed to serve on the Advisory Committee for the Social, Behavioral and Economic (SBE) Science Directorate at the National Science Foundation (NSF). The SBE sciences focus on how social, economic, political, cultural and environmental forces affect the lives of people and how people in turn shape those forces.

Brossard’s research focuses on the intersection between science, media and policy, and she is an internationally known expert in public opinion dynamics related to controversial scientific issues. She is particularly interested in understanding the role of values in shaping public attitudes and using cross-cultural analysis to understand these processes.
