Funding opportunities for teaching and learning innovations

Multiple funding opportunities are available for UW–Madison faculty and instructional staff to support various educational innovations in teaching and learning. The standard award amount for all three opportunities is $15,000.

  • Online Course Development Grants – These grants support the development of online courses taught during any term (fall, spring or summer). In addition to funding, grant recipients receive tools, training and resources including in-kind support from campus instructional technologists to assist with course design, development and production. Pre-proposals due Monday, Oct. 8. Learn more.
  • EI Small Grant Program – This program advances efforts in blended and active learning, Open Educational Resources (OER) and assessment at the course level. Proposals due Monday, Oct. 22. Learn more.
  • Summer Term Igniter Funds – These funds aim to ignite innovation in the areas of pre-college, early start and research in summer courses or programming. There will be two rounds of calls for proposals – one in fall 2018 and the other in spring 2019. Fall proposals due Tuesday, Oct. 23. Learn more.
