Donald Reed Field, a CALS emeritus professor who also served on the college’s leadership team, passed away on Saturday April 7, 2018. He was 78 years old.
At CALS, Field served as a professor in the Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology as well as the Department of Community and Environmental Sociology. He conducted significant research in social ecology, particularly sociological issues affecting natural resource systems.
He also served as a CALS associate dean and associate director of the Wisconsin Agriculture Experiment Station.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Middleton, Wisconsin. Service details and Field’s full obituary are available on the Cress Funeral Home website.
