Plia Xiong joins CALS Office of Academic Affairs

CALS Academic Affairs is pleased to announce we have hired a new Prospective Student Services Coordinator, Plia Xiong! Plia will be working with our Transitional Advising and Outreach Services unit primarily focusing on prospective student outreach and recruitment, along with advising current students and supporting CALS SOAR.

Originally from St. Paul, Minn., Plia Xiong is a UW–Madison alumna who graduated with her B.S. degree in Human Development & Family Studies. During her undergraduate career, Plia worked in the College of Letters & Science Scholarships Office, where she provided administrative support to the scholarships program and Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She also held a variety of tutoring and teaching positions where she worked with children and students of all ages. Last year, Plia was a Junior Coach in the AmeriCorps program, College Possible, where she mentored high school juniors on ACT prep and college and career exploration in Milwaukee. She spent the last few months as an administrative assistant in the UW–Madison Department of Curriculum & Instruction before transitioning into her new role as a CALS TAOS Advisor.
