LGM-Dairy insurance program refresher webinar – March 28
The funding limitation imposed on the Livestock Gross Margin for Dairy Cattle (LGM-Dairy) insurance program was eliminated via the Federal budget agreement. Coupling this with dairy farm operators now being able to opt out of USDA’s Margin Protection Program for the remainder of the calendar year, there has been a significant increase in producer interest in the LGM-Dairy program.
On March 28 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. (Central Time), a webinar providing a review of program participation and structure will be conducted.
From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Prof. Gould will provide an overview of:
- The Fundamentals of USDA’s LGM-Dairy Program; and
- An Overview of the University of Wisconsin LGM-Dairy Analyzer Software System.
From 10:30 to 11 a.m. (Central Time), Mr. Ron Mortensen of Dairy Gross Margin, LLC will providing comments as to the;
- Nuts & Bolts of Preparing for a Monthly Contract Offering;
- Mechanics of Submitting an Insurance Application; and
- Common Insurance Contract Designs.
Finally for those who are interested, a Q&A will be conducted after the webinar for as long as there are questions.
We will use the GO-TO Meeting system for conducting the webinar. All that is needed is the connection to the meeting via your favorite browser. Note that we will record this webinar and make it available as an MP4 file from the Understanding Dairy Markets website. Pre-registration is not required. There is a limitation of 100 connections so it is recommended that in lieu of individuals joining the meeting, groups of producers/dairy industry participants join the meeting to allow for a greater number of participants.
We will be online 15 minutes prior to the start of the webinar. Please join the webinar from your computer, tablet or smartphone. Access the webinar via the following URL: https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/548769381
