Women faculty, post-docs and graduate students in agricultural sciences are invited to attend a brown bag talk by Jo Handelsman, director of the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, titled “Perspectives on Professional Development for Women in Science.”
The seminar, hosted by Women in Agricultural Science, will take place on Thursday, April 13 from 12:00 – 12:45 p.m. in Room 225 of the U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center.
Following the seminar will be an interactive discussion for the inaugural meeting of Women in Agricultural Science from 12:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is a time to gather ideas and interests for the group and future presentation series.
The mission of the Women in Agricultural Science initiative is to help empower women in agricultural science to achieve their professional potential. Focused areas include leadership and mentorship development; mentoring, training, and peer group support to provide the tools, education and information necessary to address challenges faced by women in agricultural science.
