CALS Wellness Committee looking for new members, new ideas
Hello CALS community,
Have you ever wanted to be more involved in the health and wellness aspects of your workday and around CALS? Well, as the new year is fast approaching the CALS Wellness Committee is seeking any new members that may be interested joining! The committee is currently composed of 8 employees who meet on a monthly basis to try and provide the CALS community with events/information regarding the seven components of wellness.
In the past year, the committee has helped promote and/or organize events such as a CALS Crazy Legs team, Dietetics and Nutrition Club lunch and learns, wellness webinars, horticulture events, biometrics screenings, workplace workouts, and many other events/pieces of wellness information. So far we feel our committee has done a great job with having a variety of ideas, but we are always looking for new voices and new ideas. Please note that the committee is not just for employees and we would love to have some student voices at the table, as well, since our mission statement is to “provide education and opportunities to support and promote the health and well-being of the CALS community.”
If you think you may be interested in joining, please contact Kyle McMillen via the wellness@cals.wisc.edu email. Also please be on the lookout in early January for the CALS wellness survey! This survey will have questions to evaluate how the CALS community has enjoyed our events and also a chance for the CALS community to provide feedback on what areas of wellness/what events are most important.
